Which is the “life cycle” of cookies?
Depending on how long they remain activated on the user’s device, we can distinguish between session cookies and persistent cookies. As their name suggests, the latter are more intrusive to user privacy than session cookies. Information on both is provided below:
- Session cookies collect and store data for the duration of the session. This type of cookie is usually used only to display that information to provide the service you request.
- Persistent: The data is stored in the device in the terminal and can be accessed for a defined period of time. These cookies are especially intrusive. It is necessary to attend to their “strict” necessity, as well as to have them installed for the shortest possible time.
